The Marine Society and Sea Cadets
The Marine Society and Sea Cadets is the parent charity of The Sea Cadets which is a voluntary youth organisation with units (known as Training Ships) based in most towns within the United Kingdom. Its aim is to offer young people fun and adventure coupled with the chance to learn life skills from cookery, engineering, navigation and the art of seamanship together with the opportunity of putting all these abilities into practice aboard their fleet of offshore vessels. There are possibilities for adults, unconnected with The Sea Cadets who hold MCA/RYA qualifications, and for youngsters belonging to other uniformed youth organisations, to sail on these vessels.
