The Clyde Sail Training Trust is committed to providing sail training opportunities to young people who may be experiencing social exclusion and deprivation. It is a fundamental policy of the Trust that no young person should be denied the benefits of adventurous sail training on the grounds of limited personal financial resources. Our aim is to make education through sail training readily available to all members of the community in Scotland. The Trust has acquired the Clipper 60 ocean racing yacht Glasgow Clipper now renamed Clyde Challenger. The yacht has superior accommodation for groups of 12 plus 2 crew and is based at Rhu Marina on the Firth of Clyde. The vessel operates throughout Scotland and undertakes out-of-area deployments every summer during the summer school holidays. During the season we allocate some periods to corporate groups. We concentrate on team building and provide personal leadership profile reporting with feedback on individual performance.
