Eleanor Mary is a gaff cutter 70 feet from bowsprit to taffrail and 70 feet high from waterline to the truck of her topmast. She was built in 1998 on the lines of the pilot cutters of the Bristol Channel and was voted "Best Newcomer to the STI Tall Ships' Fleet" for her success racing 10,000 miles around the Atlantic in the Tall Ships 2000 event. She is available to schools and sailing clubs for two to five day voyages and to gap year and university students to take part in Tall Ships' Races. Training on board is based around the RYA cruising syllabus and aims to prepare our crew to pilot the ship along the coast and build the skills to race across oceans. We hope trainees will return as watch leader and mate.
