The Falmouth to Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta is organised by Sail Training International.

Falm-GreenLogo

Falmouth - Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 August

   Race starts Sunday 31st

   Royal Greenwich - 5 to 9 September

Bursary funding is available for Trainees to take part!

The funding comes from Sail Training International and is administered by ASTO. You need to find a berth on a boat and then contact us as soon as possible. Further funding is also available from the James Myatt Trust.

Spaces are available on Queen Galadriel (Cirdan Trust), Thermopylae Clipper (Discovery Sailing Project) and Maybe (Maybe Sailing). Other vessels may have spaces, take a look at  www.falmouthtallships.co.uk/crewing for details.

Criteria

Trainees must have genuine need for a bursary and would be unable to participate without.

Trainees must be between 15 and 25 years old.

A maximum of 50% of the total voyage fee will be funded to a maximum of £400 per trainee.

Applicants cannot live in either host port (Falmouth and Royal Greenwich) - the host ports have separate funding available for these Trainees.

Successful applicants agree to write a short report on their experience for STI, and make themselves available for publicity by ASTO (not being able to participate in PR will not adversely affect your chances of a bursary if there are good reasons).

Please complete the application form and return to ASTO. Applications from groups and individuals will be considered. Preference will be given to Trainees wishing to sail on an ASTO member vessel. Application is open now and decisions will be made as soon as possible.
