Meridian Trust Association was established in 1990 aimed specifically at youngsters who have got into trouble or are in danger of doing so; those with behavioural problems or who have been abused also benefit from the wide range of assistance we offer. They all have one thing in common, they lack self esteem. So we present them with a challenging environment and opportunity for them to gain self confidence and self respect through achievement. All our vessels are equipped with special navigational instruments which enable young people with vision impairment to take an active part in sailing. The Trust operates three yachts, Richard Langhorn Adventurer, the Alexander Fairey and Lively Lady the historic yacht sailed around the world by the late Sir Alec Rose. These are sailed by experienced crews who have had training in dealing with young people with behavioural problems.
