Ocean Youth Trust North West
Ocean Youth Trust North West is an independent, registered charity based in NW England open to all young people wherever they live. The OYT NW experience helps young people develop life skills through the challenging medium of ocean sailing in the Irish Sea and further afield. In an informal, friendly atmosphere where safety is always a prime concern, young people participate in passage planning, navigation, sail handling, trimming, steering as well as cooking and keeping the boat shipshape. For those who wish to extend their knowledge and competence in sailing, opportunities are available to take the RYA Competent Crew practical course. This is the starting point for a whole range of qualifications in boating. Many who sail have never been to sea before and the experience is usually enlightening and sometimes life changing. Opportunities also available for adults to sail as crew or trainee sea staff. Contact our office for details.
