Swan is a restored "Fifie", a type of sail fishing boat of which there were thousands built and now only a handful survive. Today she is used as a sail training vessel and living museum. The majority of our trips are day trips for schools in Shetland, Orkney and the Western Isles. Around 1,000 children have trips on board her each year. The trips are tailored to suit the age group involved. Special needs, both young and old, are also catered for. As would be expected with any trip involving young children safety is a priority and Swan conforms to the strict safety standards of the MCA and these are continually updated. During school holidays Swan takes youths and adults on longer trips, commonly to Norway and Faroe and the international STI Tall Ships' Races but, if chartered, we will go anywhere!
